Hey Folks. I'm new here. Really excited that I stumbled on this community. Any advice on how best to interact with everyone would be great! Also, if anyone out there is the type that likes to give unsolicited advice, I'd love to get some! Just curious what you guys think about IndieGoGo's UI. (http://www.indiegogo.com). Any expert/non-expert opinions would be great. We crowdsourced our current look & UI before discovering this community. Any addi... [read more]

Hi everyone. In Bangladesh, people trust most communication from the leading telecom operator, GrameenPhone (a Telenor Company). They promoted the concept of internet on cell phones widely and successfully, though the premier in the industry (Citycell) spent a lot much earlier than GP (GrameenPhone). After the successful campaign, GP had reached millions of hearts yet again with their EDGE modem, which is quite fast. Recently, government has perm... [read more]

Hey Everybody, Mario already posted this in another thread, but I thought it could use its own thread too. If you're in town and looking for something to do Monday night, join us in Kensington Market for drinks, food, etc! For more info check out this link and let us know if you're coming along. http://guestlistapp.com/events/4062

Mike Madaio: I like the idea of meeting at Ronnie's between 6 and 630 since the sheraton is actually out of the way for me
Marat Ryndin: So where are we meeting? Also, will we be having any food as part of this pub crawl? Just trying to decide whether I should have dinner first.
Matt Nish-Lapidus: There will be a group leaving from MaRS around 6-ish, and a group leaving from the Sheraton. Anybody that wants to meet us in Kensington should drop by Ronnie's. As for food: there is lots of food in the Kensington area, but nothin. Has been organize... [read more]

Matt Nish-Lapidus posted Pre-conference/Post-conferece

Hey, Is anybody planning to arrive in Toronto early or stay for a few days after the conference? If so, let's make some plans! Matt.

Joan Vermette: So Marat, I'll finally meet you, after exchanging emails w/you for, what, years? Awesome.
Kelly Brooks: Is there an official Sunday night meet-up spot?
Marat Ryndin: Hi Joan! You sure will.

I'm hoping most of you do, since that's the workshop opportunity we're planning. We've got the pattern cards in a prototype format and we've got some game rules and we've been playtestin' them and, well, it's fun and you kind of learn stuff. Who's up for it?

Paul Adams: Count me in as an "enthusiast" if you still need some volunteers!
Brett Lutchman: Me too please.
Marat Ryndin: Why not. If the word "play" is part of a sentence I'm there.

Many of you have expressed a desire to carry on the karaoke tradition of conferences past -- now is your chance! . RSVP at the Guestlist page http://guestlistapp.com/events/4116/ . Location TBA depending on the size of the party.

Valeska O'Leary: I signed up. Hopefully they have Piaf ... la-la-la-ridah ;-)
Kaleem: Link fixed!
Marat Ryndin: I'm in.

Hi all, I'm looking forward to this week! Is there either an "official" hashtag for the conference or is there a "folkstag" (as in folkonomy)? I'll follow along here on Crowdvine but would like to see the twitter stream for the conference as well.

Jonathan S. Knoll ("Yoni"): #idea09 is the preferred hashtag (since it is shorter than the other alternative, #idea2009), but i suspect you'll see both. ~ yoni
Chris Cavallucci: For those of us who cannot attend - #noidea09 (thanks to @lwcavallucci for that little piece of awesome)

Most of you all have probably dealt with this already, but wanted to say it for those who haven't realized or gotten around to it: iPhone will work in Toronto, but it will cost you. So call AT&T and sign up for one of their international plans ** $24.99 gets you 20MB for a month and they will pro-rate it if you cancel on return to the US ($5 per MB after 20MB) -- this includes checking visual voice mail although you have to pay by the minute if y...
